An Integrated Safety Program for Man and Machine

FortiSafe Certified is a training program for all Fortis employees, both veteran and new hires alike. This industry leading behavior based safety program is integrated with lean methodologies and is an essential element of Fortis’ service delivery.

Fortis is committed to training all employees by using proven training programs that focus on behaviors delivered by top providers. FortiSafe Certified works to extend the safety program beyond all customer expectations, covering both man and machine.

For an individual to achieve their FortiSafe Certification they must complete certain criteria. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Preventative Maintenance program
  • Job Safety Analysis (JSA) program
  • Short Service Employee (SSE) program
  • Behavior Based Safety (BBS) program
  • Stop Work Authority (SWA) program
  • Ancillary equipment hands-on training (based on job duties)
  • Documented SafeLand or OSHA 10 General Industry course
  • Current Medic First Aid/CPR/AED or equivalent certification
  • Current Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S)
  • Rough Terrain Forklift/Manlift loader certificates/card
  • Current Well Control certificate (Operators and Rig Supervisors
  • Perfect monthly safety meeting attendance (includes make-ups)
